A workshop built on patience
Sukjai grew from a simple observation: Bangkok has no shortage of places to drop off a watch, but very few where the work is done with genuine care. Our founder, Khun Nat, spent over a decade learning mechanical watch servicing through formal training in Switzerland and long years of hands-on practice, before opening the workshop on Phaya Thai Road.
The name Sukjai — roughly, a calm and contented heart — reflects the mood we try to bring to each piece that comes through the door. We're not in a hurry. We'd rather take the time a movement needs than rush a job and leave something unresolved.
Over the years the workshop has grown modestly, adding one or two trusted hands but keeping the team deliberately small. Every watch that arrives is handled by someone experienced, and the person who assessed it is usually the same person who works on it.

Why we do this work
Preserve what matters
Many of the watches we see carry memory — a parent's gift, a travel companion, a piece worn daily for decades. We think those deserve more than a quick fix.
Stay honest
We tell customers what we find and what we suggest. If a watch doesn't need a full overhaul, we'll say so. We'd rather earn your trust than charge for unnecessary work.
Keep learning
Mechanical horology is a wide field. We continue to study, to seek out unusual calibres, and to refine our technique — quietly, as a matter of ongoing practice.

Khun Nat Kanchanarat
Founder & Head Watchmaker
Trained in Switzerland, working with mechanical movements for over fifteen years. Nat founded Sukjai to bring thoughtful watch care to Bangkok.
Praewa Wattana
Workshop Technician
Praewa focuses on movement cleaning and lubrication, with particular attention to vintage calibres. She joined Sukjai in 2019 and has grown into a careful, methodical technician.
Chanchai Thongchai
Customer & Logistics
Chanchai handles enquiries, intake, and returns — making sure every interaction with Sukjai feels as calm and clear as the work itself.
How We Work
Standards we hold ourselves to
Condition assessment before any work
Every watch receives a written condition note before we touch it. You approve scope before we proceed — no surprises on collection.
Ultrasonic cleaning for all overhauls
Movement parts are cleaned in an ultrasonic bath with watchmaker-grade solution, then dried carefully before reassembly begins.
Timing measurement on a timegrapher
After regulation, we measure rate and amplitude on an electronic timegrapher. The results are included in your service record.
Water resistance testing where applicable
If gaskets are renewed, we pressure-test water resistance before return — using equipment appropriate for the watch's rated depth.
Secure individual storage
Each piece is stored in its own tagged compartment while in our care. Nothing is left on open benches unattended, and access to the workshop is controlled.
Full written service documentation
Every completed service comes with a written record of work carried out, parts replaced, and timing readings. Useful now and for any future service.
Our Approach
Mechanical watch servicing in Bangkok, done at the right pace
Sukjai occupies a quiet position in Bangkok's watch servicing landscape. We work only with mechanical movements — no batteries, no quartz, no battery swaps. Our focus is the kind of intricate, hand-assembled mechanism that rewards patient attention and suffers under rushed handling.
Customers come to us from across Bangkok and from other parts of Thailand, often after being told their watch is "too old" or "too unusual" elsewhere. We find these cases interesting rather than daunting. A well-made movement from the 1960s deserves the same attentive service as a contemporary piece.
Our workshop on Phaya Thai Road is easy to reach by BTS from Phaya Thai station, and we're always happy to discuss a watch before you commit to bringing it in. A conversation costs nothing and often helps both of us understand what the watch needs.
If you've inherited a watch and don't know its condition, or if a piece you wear regularly has started running less consistently, these are natural starting points for a conversation with us. We won't push any particular level of service — we'll describe what we find and let you decide.
